Alvin W. Woodman was born on 10 February 1840 in Auburn, Androscoggin County, Maine.1,2,3 He was the son of Deacon Greenleaf H. Woodman and Dorothy E. Dunham.1,2,3,4 He enlisted in the 33rd Regiment Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry. Alvin was wounded 29 October 1863 at the battle of Wauhatchie, Tennessee, He was discharged 12 May 1864.3,5 On 5 December 1867 in Lewiston, Androscoggin County, Maine, Alvin married Elizabeth Mary Lowell, daughter of James Lowell Jr and Jane G. Baker.6,7 After 1868 Alvin married Phebe Adelaid Briggs, daughter of Susan unknown.3,8 Alvin W. Woodman appeared on the Census of 1880 in Lewiston, Androscoggin County, Maine.9 He lived in 1881 in Lewiston, Androscoggin County, Maine.10 He moved in 1889 to Brockton, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.3 He was employed by the Bates Manufacturing Co. as a master mechanic about 1890 in Lewiston, Androscoggin County, Maine.11 He moved in 1893 to Connecticut.3 He moved in 1896 to Brockton, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.3 He died on Sunday, 9 September 1917 in Brockton, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, at age 77 years, 6 months and 30 days.3 He was buried in the Melrose Cemetery, Brockton, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.3
