     Smith Flanders was born on 17 September 1830 in Cornville, Somerset County, Maine.1,2,3 He was the son of Moses Flanders and Roxana Webb.1,2,3 In Monson, Piscataquis County, Maine, Smith married Mahala Bean.1,4 Smith Flanders and Mahala Bean appeared on the Census of 1880 in Hartland, Somerset County, Maine.5 On 16 June 1897 in Monmouth, Kennebec County, Maine, Smith married Rhoda A. E. Titus, daughter of David Titus and Rhoda Rounds. By J. L. Orcutt, J.P.1 Smith Flanders died on Friday, 6 February 1903 in Monmouth, Kennebec County, Maine, at age 72 years, 4 months and 20 days.1
