     Esther Finette Ward was born on 15 September 1851 in Orange, Franklin County, Massachusetts.1,2,3,4 She was the daughter of Deacon Thomas Harris Ward and Esther Kellogg Mayo.1,2,3,4 In April 1874 Esther married Willie C. Turner.1,2,4 Esther became blind about 1901 and remained so for the rest of her life. According to Miner (1976) "She could remember some of the lace crochet patterns she had done before the affliction, and did much of this work besides other plain sewing.4" Esther Finette Ward and Laura Jane Ward lived about 1901 in Bacon Street, Orange, Franklin County, Massachusetts, Esther and Laura lived together so that Laura could help Esther who was now blind.4 Esther Finette Ward died on Friday, 7 March 1913 in Orange, Franklin County, Massachusetts, at age 61 years, 5 months and 20 days at ten to seven in the morning.1,3,4
