Andronicus Angelus was the son of Constantinus Angelus and Theodora Comnena unknown.1,2 His name was also spelt "Andronikos Angelos Doukas."2 Before 1155 Andronicus married Euphrosyne Castamonita.1,2 Andronicus Angelus served between 1166 and 1185 as kuropalates at the Court of Manuel I, Emperor of the East.2 He was blinded in 1182/83. He was a General in the civil and Moslem wars.2 He died before December 1185.2
