Gerhard I of Egisheim was the son of Hugh VI Count of Egisheim and Hedwig von Dagsburg.1 Gerhard married Bertha of Burgundy, daughter of Udalrich I "the Rich" Count of Schanis and Matilda of Burgundy.2 Gerhard I of Egisheim died in 1038.1
