Charles Frederick Parents was born on 20 April 1848 in Amherst, Hampshire County, Massachusetts.^3,4,5,6,1 He was the son of Joseph Joel Parents and Betsy McNall.^1,2 On 6 March 1872 in Amherst, Hampshire County, Massachusetts, Charles married Hattie Francelia Blanchard, daughter of William Lyman Blanchard and Angeline H. Goodell.^3,2,1,7 Charles Frederick Parents and Hattie Francelia Blanchard appeared on the Census of 1880 in Amherst, Hampshire County, Massachusetts.³ Charles Frederick Parents was a farm laborer in 1880 in Amherst.³ He and Hattie Francelia Blanchard appeared on the Census of 1900 in Bechertown Road, Amherst, Hampshire County, Massachusetts.⁵ Charles Frederick Parents was an engineer in a hat shop in 1900 in Amherst.⁵ He died on Thursday, 28 February 1918 at age 69 years, 10 months and 8 days.⁶ Charles's gravestone inscription reads:
