     Joseph Roy was born on 21 February 1866 in Montréal, Québec, Canada. His birth was registered at the Basilique Notre Dame.1,2,3 He was the son of Joseph Roy and Marie Adelaide Gagnon.1 Joseph Roy was educated in Montréal, Québec, Canada.3 He was a cabinet maker in 1877 in Albany. He immigrated with Joseph Roy in 1877 to Cohoes, Albany County, New York.4 Joseph Roy was naturalized between 1877 and 1900. He is listed in the family of Joseph Roy and Ada unknown in 1880 census in 454 Wilmer Avenue, Cohoes, Albany County, New York.1 About 1888 Joseph married Evangalina Manny, daughter of Joseph Napoléon Many and Marguerite Poirier. Joseph Roy lived about 1889 in Rochester, Monroe County, New York. He lived in 1890 in 208 Oak, Rochester, Monroe County, New York.5 He was a pattern maker in 1890.5 He and Evangalina Manny lived in 1893 in 20 Mansion Street, Glenville Village, Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.3 Joseph Roy was employed as a pattern maker by in Schneider-Trenkamp Stove Company which later merged with the American Stove Company, Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, about 1894.3 He was a pattern draftsman in 1900 in Cleveland.2 He and Evangalina Manny appeared on the Census of 1900 in 20 Mansion Street, Glenville Village, Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.2 Joseph Roy was about 1920 the General Superintendent of the Reliable Division of in American Stove Company, Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.3 He was retired in 1930 in American Stove Company, Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.3 He died in 1951 in 21716 Maydale Avenue, Euclid, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, at age 84 years at his son, Elmer's home.3 He was buried in Knollwood Mausoleum, Mayfield Hights, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, in grave number 36. The services were conducted by the Rev. M. Wayne McQueeen of Windermere Church.3
